Main ContentOSHA 10 Hour Program
ARTBA and its partners are offering LTAP and TTAP centers the opportunity to provide a free OSHA 10-Hour Program to their clients. Several years ago, ARTBA and the National Safety Council developed this training program focused directly on the hazards and situations that roadway construction workers face every day. This package meets OSHA's requirements for 10-hour accreditation. From work zones to night work, this acclaimed training sets the standard for the entire industry.
During the Roadway Workzone Construction Safety Course, participants will gain the knowledge to:
- Recognize reasons for and key benefits of focusing on safety and health issues as an integral part of their work activity.
- Employ proactive approaches to construction safety and health efforts to gain a competitive advantage.
- Respond positively to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety and health regulatory compliance issues that are specific to the roadway construction industry.
- Recognize the importance of identifying, controlling, and eliminating common construction hazards as a means of preventing deaths, injuries, and illnesses.
- Provide basic knowledge for hazard assessment, minimizing losses and controlling safety and health related costs to the employer.
- Apply relevant course resources and information to their own contractor's safety and health efforts to achieve the above goals.
- Meet the requirements of OSHA's 10-Hour Construction Safety and Health Outreach Program, and receive an OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety and Health Course completion card.
Funding for this program has been made available through FHWA's Work Zone Safety Grant Program. As such, LTAP/TTAP centers can offer this outstanding 1.5 day training program, valued at $175.00, free to their clients.
